Making sure that your site is completely Search Engine Optimized starts with the code. There are several key factors that Google, and other engines, look for when determining if you are fully optimized for that Keyword or Phrase.
-Title Tag: The space in the top … up there, in the blue bar /\ all the way at the top of your screen, see it? That is the title tag.
-Meta Description: A webmaster should thoroughly document each page, but an SEO will do so with keywords in mind.
-Meta Keywords: Not as important anymore, but they don’t hurt, still good to have them.
-Keyword Density: How many times is the keyword actually mentioned on the page versus the number of total words on the page. Varying arguments on keyword density levels and limits
-Alt and Title tags: Your images should also be documented/keyword rich
-Header Tags: The big bold stuff on your page, is it relevant?
-Italic/Bold/Underlined Text: For one, don’t underline on the internet, unless its a link. There are also arguments on the italic/bold side. I err in the favor of “Will it hurt?” No, it won’t hurt you to bold/italicize, but it might not be a huge help, either.
